Home is in Northwestern Montana where our family has carved out the space to follow many pursuits. We hike, camp, kayak, and fly fish on the lake and in the mountains around us. At home, we tend the chickens, rabbits, dogs, and all the microbiomes that make up our fermented hobbies, including cheese, sourdough, and garden-cultivated ferments.
Work in Ministry has been part of my career since being ordained in the PC(USA) in 2007. Currently serving as the pastor of the Flathead Parish which encompasses the Presbyterian churches of Polson and Dayton. I previously worked in Southern Appalachia as pastor of Morrison Presbyterian Church and as the Director of the campus ministry UKirk WCU & Hillside Grind Coffeehouse Ministry. For more detailed ministry background, please see the tab above titled Pastor.
Work in the Community continues for me as I support my wife’s business, Beyond Bending Yoga. I am responsible for all the technological components, including the design and maintenance of the video-on-demand membership website, the digital newsletter, and all of the graphic design, copy writing, and content management.
Work in Brewing was the main part of my career for many years as the craft beer industry was rapidly expanding. During this time, I led the brewing department of a multi-site brewpub and then went on to lead the launch efforts of two additional breweries in Western North Carolina, one a packaging brewery and one a taproom brewery. For both brewery launches, I served not only as the launch lead for all brewery build-out but then subsequently as the Head Brewer and General Manager.
